Medical Disclaimer

WikiQigong is an educational resource. It is not medical advice.

The content on this site is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It describes traditional Chinese mind–body practices — tai chi, qigong, meditation, and breathing — and their historical and cultural context.

What we are not

  • We are not providing medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • We are not recommending any practice as a substitute for professional medical care.
  • We are not claiming that any practice described here cures, treats, prevents, or reverses any disease or health condition.

About our health wording

Where research is discussed, we describe findings cautiously and with their actual strength of evidence. Terms like "may support," "may help," and "has been studied for" are used deliberately. They are not marketing language; they reflect the current, often preliminary state of the evidence base for mind–body practices.

Before you practice

  • If you have a medical condition — especially cardiovascular, respiratory, balance-related, or musculoskeletal — consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new movement or breathing practice.
  • If you are pregnant, consult your care provider before beginning.
  • Stop any practice that causes pain, dizziness, breathlessness, or distress.
